Unit 3
1.
Based on your reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being optimal wellbeing), where do you rate your A-physical wellbeing, B-spiritual well-being, C-psychological well-being? Why?
A.)-Physical wellbeing- I rate my physical well-being as a five because at my age I have no major debilitating diseases. I do not smoke or drink alcohol, except for an occasional drink at social events. My lack of exercise and proper diet are two things that I need to work on. B.)Spiritual well-being-I'd rate this as a 8. I couldn't get through a day without my faith. No one is perfect and improvements can always be made. I will take more time for myself and my own needs. C.) Psychological well-being- This is going to be rated a 4. I think this is the area where I need the most work. If I can get my head together the body logically will follow. I know what I have to do, I just have to make the time to do it.
2. Develop a goal for yourself in each area (physical, spiritual, psychological).
A. Physical- I plan to increase my activity level by walking at least 30 minutes at least three times a week. I will lose 10 pounds before Thanksgiving.
B. I will increase the amount of time I spend in quite meditation.
C. I will reserve one day a month that is specifically for my own needs.
3. What activities or exercise can you implement in your life to assist in moving toward each goal? I will try harder to say, “yes I am” when one of my siblings asks, “are you busy?”
I will try to make more time for myself each day.
4. Describe your experience. (What it beneficial? Frustrating? Etc.) I believe the experience was beneficial. The time I spend doing school work is usually the only time that I spend exclusively for myself. I actually felt so relaxed, I started to fall asleep. The only negative thing was the predictability of the sequence.
I completely understand where you are coming from. Sometimes, we have all the tools and know exactly what needs to be done however don't make the time for it or create excuses. I know because I used to do the same thing until I started to get sick. For example, when I was at work I would work all day without taking breaks or eating lunch because there was so much work that needed to be done and I always said, "I don't have time to eat because I have a lot of work that needs to be done" until I got sick and started developing migraines along with my stress levels going through the roof. Until I took a step back and said enough is enough I need to start thinking about myself and my health. Then I just said to myself its all going to be about "me time".

It sounds as if you have a great plan on dealing with what you need to improve on. Exercising and eating better is one of mine as well. I also feel that we all need improvement on everything that we do. No one is perfect. I also feel that I need to spend more time on myself and make time for this. I need to make time to reflect on my week and just have a mindless time and give my brain a vacation.
