1.Compare and contrast the Loving Kindness exercise and the Subtle mind exercise. Explain your experience including the benefits, frustrations etc.
I believe I gained more benefit from the loving kindness exercise. Perhaps I wasn't in the proper mind set for the subtle mind exercise it just seemed like I could not focus as much on what were we asked to do. I kept waiting for the pauses to end, I felt as though the breaks were too long. I will try this exercise again, it is something I really need to focus on.
2. Discuss the connection of the spiritual wellness to mental and physical wellness. Explain how the connection is manifested in your personal life.
Having spiritual wellness, however an individual defines it means to have a solid focus, a rock, a guiding point, a purpose. I am a Christian,my beliefs serve as a guide for my life. My spiritual well-being helps me to stay focused, mental and physical wellness are connected because of my spiritual grounding.
Hi Mary!
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem as you had the first time I went through the exercise but when I left it for a day and then went back to it I found I could focus and really follow along. Maybe you can give it a shot again?
It sounds like you have a great understanding of your spirituality and thats great. So often people search in all the wrong places for their peace. I know that for me prayer helps me to know what I want in life, what I need to work on and to let go of things that are out of my hands.
Good luck with everything!
Mary, having a spiritual wellness is what helps me in my day to day life. I strongly believe that my faith and love for God is what keeps me going through every trial and tribulation I may face in life. Without it I would be a lost soul.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI also thought the pauses in this exercise were waaaaay too long. It was tough for me at first, but I started to get the hang of it further into the exercise. They should have made a beginners version with shorter pauses! :)
